This guided tour explores two of our favourite local destinations in one scenic eco-tour. You will be travelling in comfort in one of our air conditioned 4WD vehicles so come with us and discover the beauty, diversity and hospitality of our Hunter Valley and Blue Mountains regions.
Suggested Itinerary:
Day 1) Sydney to the Hunter Valley via the Convict Trail:
north over the Sydney Harbour Bridge
short walk along the Old Great North Road
scenic villages of St Albans, Laguna and Wollombi
lunch at Wollombi, home of Dr Jurd's `Jungle Juice'
boutique wineries hidden in sandstone valleys
Day 2) Hunter Winecountry to Blue Mountains:
we sample some of the Hunter's best wines:
Tyrells
Lindemans
Rosemount
lunch in the vinyards at McWilliams' `Elizabeth' cafe
scenic sandstone trails into the Blue Mountains
`The Edge' Imax film at Katoomba's Edge Cinema
Day 3) Blue Mountains sights - a number of options:
or the historic Zig Zag or Wolgan Valley Railways
perhaps a trip to the rugged `Lost City' region
a morning walk through the Grand Canyon: a steep three hour walk through the famous canyon below Blackheath. You will need to be fit for this one but it is a great way to get `close and personal' to the real Blue Mountains...
ride Katoomba's historic `Mountain Devil' or into the World Heritage Listed rainforests of the Jamison Valley floor. After an interesting walk along an instructive boardwalk, we rise from the forest on a cable car to view the splendid Three Sisters, Ruin Castle, Orphin Rock and Mount Solitary.
return for optional afternoon tea at the `Carrington'
Leaving Katoomba at sundown, we'll have you back in Sydney one and a half hours later.
